                                  19th- 3 hours
Weather conditions: Fine
Variations in environmental conditions: None
Route/river conditions and if they have changed over the days: Good
Incidents/injuries: None
Learning points: Be prepared with more torches if staying at a certain place when dark and need to find way back to camp.

We left later than we wanted to and drove to the trail from Greymouth. I had a fractured elbow so I didn't have to carry any of the group gear or food but carried my own gear. We started walking at 2:10 and made good time as we got to the hut around 5:30. We then set up our beds and started cooking dinner which was carbonara. After dinner we headed off to the hot pools where we stayed till it was dark and had speights and chocolate and we also lit candles and placed them around the hot pools. When it was time to leave we realised we had only brought one head torch between the 5 of us so we made slow progress back to camp. In the morning we had porridge with fruit then headed off back home. We left later than we planned to, around 11:20. We had a quick stop along the river for a snack and made it back to the car at 2 o'clock.
